Media needs to take responsibility

I find the above incident quite interesting in that after the death of Eugene Tere' Blanche the AWB has remained thankfully quite clam. I am not a supporter of the AWB neither do I believe in the other extreme, however when one looks at the racial atmosphere currently prevailing in South Africa surely journalist needs to be mindful of provoking violence and racial division. This incident is not the only example of the media stoking the fires; Julius Malema is constantly provoked by the media into making rash statements (no matter how stupid they are). Now I am not suggestion that we censor the media but merely make those who seek its mass reach to fulfil their own agenda i.e. a good news stories based on in sighted violence or a more serious development, should be brought to book and held accountable.

I have no problem with the media reporting the facts; my concern is directed more at the sensationalism that seems to prevail in the South African Media. South Africa is a melting pot and we have come a long way since the abolishment of Apartheid. To provide the empty vessels in this country, and a damn fine country it is, a soap box to preach from and divide the people on racial lines is, as I have mentioned, irresponsible.
